In 2008 Cristal Clean entered into a joint strategic partnership with Innu-Science, a Canadian-based company which provides non-pathogenic (harmless) bacteriological products to break down grease, grime and dirt. Instead of using the traditional harmful chemicals such as toilet bowl cleaner (acid) and surface cleaners (caustic soda and ammonia), we use products which not only provide an environmentally friendly, pH neutral alternative but also assist you with your ‘Green Building’ rating.
A lot of emphasis is placed on mechanising cleaning processes. It is far more efficient to vacuum than sweep a floor, it is better to use a mechanical floor sweeper than to use a broom and rather than mop a tiled floor use an auto-scrubber instead. Although equipment is pricey the cleaning results differ hugely over manual applications and often this cost can be offset by employing less labour.
We use electronic attendance systems to ensure staff arrive and leave timeously and email notifications are received for absent or late coming staff. Our roaming managers are issued with tablets for inspections, training and communicating (email) purposes and visit all sites weekly.
